Scholarships and Institutional Grants

All students are automatically considered for academic scholarships when they are reviewed for admission to the College. No seperate application is required for merit-based scholarships, competition/recommendation forms are recommended for the Top Ten on 10 Scholarship and the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarship as these are scholarship competitions.

  • Over 90% of the entering class receives some form of academic or need-based financial aid.
  • 2.8 million dollars in institutional scholarships and grants are available to qualified students.
  • Partial tuition athletic scholarships are available for most athletic programs.

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarships
Up to $20,000

2008-09 Merit Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen
Awards range from $4,000 - Full-tuition per year.

2008-09 Merit Scholarships for Transfer Students
Awards range from $2,000 - $10,000 per year.

Ivy Tech Grants for Ivy Tech graduates continuing their education
Award amount $2,500 (renewable for 3 years)

Cristo Rey Network Scholarship
Award amount $10,000 (Cristo Rey Network students only)

Guerin College Preparatory High School (River Grove) &
Guerin Catholic High School (Indianapolis) Scholarships
Award amount $10,000

Retention Grants
Award amounts vary

21st Century Scholars
In addition to Indiana state award, SMWC will allot $7,890 applicable for room and board costs only.

Visual and Performing Arts Scholarships
Awards up to $10,000

"Pomeroy" Athletic Scholarships
Award amounts vary, renewable with Athletic Director's recommendations.
Based on athletic team needs and applicant's talent.

Alumnae Tuition Grant
Award amounts vary, renewable.
For direct relatives of SMWC graduates or current students.

5th Year Scholarships for students working on a 2nd bachelors degree
Awards up to $2,000 (based upon financial need)

September 11th Scholarship Fund
Award amount - Full tuition
Immediate family members of those killed or seriously injured and permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, or United Airlines Flight 93 will receive a full tuition scholarship.

Military / Veteran Grant
$3,000 Grant awarded to military service personnel who have served on active duty (documentation required).

Woods External Degree (WED) Program Scholarships

Ivy Tech Grants for Ivy Tech graduates continuing their education
Award amount $2,000 (renewable for 3 years)

Corporate Connections
10% tuition discount for employees of Corporate Connection Employers

Military / Veteran Grant
$3,000 Grant awarded to military service personnel who have served on active duty (documentation required).

Awards up to $6,000
