Excellence in Education

Award Winning Faculty

Who teaches at The Woods? They are people who are passionate about their subjects, who consider teaching their # 1 priority, and who bring both practical experience in their fields and impressive degrees and awards from some of the country's best colleges and universities to the classroom. More than 65% of our faculty hold a terminal degree in their field. Our faculty are a blend of women and men who, like our students, come from a variety of faith backgrounds. You'll gain a well-rounded education as you learn from faculty with diverse viewpoints, beliefs, and attitudes.

Involvement in your Education

Our faculty members keep up with trends and developments in their fields through research and scholarly pursuits. They invite students to collaborate with them on their projects and encourage students to create their own experiments. A few of the many faculty projects include:

  • Assessing diversity issues in classrooms across the country.
  • Studying agenda formation by newspaper editors, including how attitudes, experience, and educational backgrounds affect decisions made about international news.
  • Researching visual cognition - how we see and remember visual information, including topics like color memory, symbol recognition, shape and color coding used in graphic design, animation, and advertising.
